Summary
Concerns indexes of issues addressed to viceroy, dealing with efforts to terminate Indians idolatry, military personnel, salaries, appointments, etc. Document written by Canaveral describes Indian solution of Mescal and other herbs to carry out their rites. Series of autos on the celebration of rites by nimemigua papaneleoche yore pexec tacaguia tavargec pexicg criatura y Se ha empezado a alimentar de Leche materna, Vajo de tu proteccion la pongo para que Se crie Feliz, y preserve de dano, acuerdate de la Cienega de donde Vino esta agua). Testimonies from Indians are taken regarding their religious rites. Indians describe instances of their own idolatry when interrogated I.e. where they hide their idols. Native names of religious objects such as an ornamented pot which is called tallaopa and another one called tajachi are described. Indians are sworn and testify on their religious practices, giving names of their idols. (M. Marroquin, April 1989)

Informes concerning spiritual and temporal life at missions in upper and Lower Pimerias; included is number of inhabitants, births, deaths, etc; means of livelihood of inhabitants, and religious state of affairs. Documents describe depredations due to inhospitable climate and Indians (i.e. Apaches), and also discuss feasibility of uniting outlying populations into larger groups to facilitate civil, religious administration. Summary
A group of Apaches de Paz under chief Chiquito rebel near Bacoachi. Loyal groups aid Spaniards in punishing them. These three letters tell also of campaigns in Sonora and near El Paso using Indian auxiliaries. There is information on chiefs, rancherias and a very interesting description of some rebel Apache medicine men performing ceremonies from a leather bag full of dolls and idols made of feathers. Much of this same volume, written from El Paso in 1787-8. (T. Naylor, 1977) and (D.uhlman, 1988)

Summary
Concerns military problems caused by a force of rebels made up of Apostate Indians and renegades menacing Valle de San Bartholome; includes many interesting details on rebels use of spies; size and organization of their forces (more than 1700 men); ethnic composition and origins of members of their group; their leader (Calaxtrin);their tactics and strategy; their capture and conversion of other Tarahumar Indians, including women; their arms and equipment; importance of criminals in the group; their use of Peyote to persuade captives to join rebellion; rebel bases in mountains; their use of captured livestock for meat; their commerce with barbarian Indians for arrows and hides; use of auxiliaries against rebels; population losses resulting from rebel raids; an exploration of rebels home in San Francisco mountains by balenzeula; recent presidio transfers and resulting strategic situation; recognition that rebel Tarahumaras are a serious threat to province; and viceroy's insistence on importance of new presidio line.
