Information Collection and Use

UAiR is owned and operated by the University Of Arizona (UA) and the University of Arizona Libraries (UAL), which in turn are governed by the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR). Neither ABOR, the University of Arizona, the University of Arizona Libraries, nor their respective employees will sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from those specified in this statement.

Log Files

Each time you visit the UAiR website, we may record the following information:

  • The IP address from which you connect.
  • The list of pages you visit.
  • The time each page is visited.
  • The page from which you were referred to the current page.
  • The user agent (browser) used.

UAiR cannot link this information to any individual user. We use this information to help diagnose problems with our server and to gather broad demographic information with which to improve the administration of our site. These files may be maintained indefinitely.

Cookies

UAiR uses cookies for a limited number of individuals who may access the collection via the username/password system. The cookie we create is temporary and is used strictly to enable authorization control for online access to administrative functions within UAiR and to obviate the need for more than one login per browser session. This cookie stores only username and password data. It is not used to track what other sites the user has visited or to look at or store any personal or confidential information about the user. As soon as the user ends the browser session, the information in this cookie is destroyed.

Information Sharing

UAiR may share or publish aggregated usage and demographic information. This information is not linked to any personal information that can identify an individual person, and the anonymity of individual users and the confidentiality of their searches will be fully protected. The only approved purpose for sharing aggregated usage and demographic information is to add to the body of knowledge about repositories and specifically how the design and contents of UAiR are utilized.
