Long list of complaints about the treatment of the indios of Acontzi by the Espanoles, Coyotes, mulatos, and Negros of that Pueblo. Complaints center around three issues- (1) all the good arable land has been taken by them for farming and mining, leaving the indios to farm in the Arroyos where the others graze their livestock, thus destroying the indios Milpas; (2) excessive use of Indian labor in the Casas de los vecinos to the detriment of the Milpas; and (3) destroying the christianity of the indios through disgraceful conduct and through killing them before they can be baptized. Letters to viceroy by San Fernando settlers requesting and accusing governor of abuses. Governor has taken away water rights given to them by king, imprisonment for some of their members for protesting and not allowing them to leave area to seek medical aid when sick. Also accusing priest of overcharging them for services rendered. Copies of edicts issued by king referring to these issues are included. (A. Dell'acqua, January 1988)

Settlement and payment to fifteen families who were staying and helping families from canary islands. Viceroy wanted to pay them for continuing in area. Capitan of presidio San Antonio relates that families have moved away as they did not want to continue living with people from canary islands as their way of life was different and wanted to avoid tensions and fights. Remaining supplies and cattle for Lower California missions and presidios; of necessary personnel, food, cattle and arms for their defense; advises of shipments and receipts of items to same by paquebots San Carlos, el Principe and San Antonio. 2) ff. 341-344 are 1770 instrucciones from Croix to the Cabo of the Escolta de la mision in 16 capitulos including regulations for distribution of weapons, defensive measures to be taken, treatment and punishment of Indians, care of horses and cattle, food supplies and rations, relations with missionaries and Gentiles, punishments for contraband and illicit sexual relations with Indians.
