Cabildo of Santa Fe petitions governor to issue agricultural tools, cloth, thread, horses, gunpowder, munitions and arms to inhabitants of Villa as help is needed to defend it, there is hunger and people are almost naked. Cabildo attaches copies of original documents to back up petition dating from 1699 when king issued a cedula for more families and added monetary help to inhabitants of province; documents show viceroy complied but governors did not.
