Summary
Some letters about a lay religious who practices medicine in Monterrey. After being ordered to go back to his monastery by viceroy Branciforte, he is refused permission and is hidden by the governor because there is nobody else there to help with an epidemic of smallpox. This stratagem is reported to the tribunal del protomedicato and the fray is put under arrest and finally liberated. Letter from Yxant (teniente Coronel) who is on his way from Cadiz and claims he has received less money than he should and asks for the difference, after checking in Mexico it appears he has received way to much money and he should be giving it back.
