None of Effie Anderson Smith's (aka "Mrs. A.Y.Smith") paintings hang in Arizona galleries, and her name is in no dictionary of artists, but she was, at the turn of the century, a noted artist and teacher in Pearce & Douglas. Her work was shown at the Corcoran Gallery in D.C. in the 1930s. Illus.
