Summary
Messa is designated to carry out a population census among Negroes, Indians and mulatos in order for gobierno de Sinaloa to collect taxes from them. Documents include a 41 page list of mulatos, Negroes, and Indians. The lists specify civil status, ethnicity, gender, age, and number of occupants per household. The lists are taken from el Mezquital, las Cruces, and el Sarampion Barrios; and from Chametla, Samora, el Guallabo, la Baiona and Camichin rancherias.
