Summary
Concerns trial against Bonifacio, Junipero, alhuynaiuhit, and Maria Bernarda. They are accused of having killed Maria Bernarda's Husband, el indio Marcos. Ortega is appointed defender of the accused. Having being found guilty, the Indians are to be killed, but Goycochea asks the virrey to forgive them (the Indians don't have good notions of goodness and evil) and, instead, punish them in another way.
