Summary
Bustamente needs supplies to repair presidio. He suggests two of his nephews for newly vacated positions under his command. Bustamente is in ill health, requests retirement at earliest possible convenience; Fayni submits letter assuring virrey that Bustamente is ill and should be retired. Six months later, January 1773, Bustamente Dies. (D. Marksz, March 1987)
