Letters from Buenaventura de Aguirre and fray Joseph Garcia describing hardships experienced by inhabitants of missions along Rio Grande, and humbly beseeching viceroy to send desperately needed supplies to these missions. Fiscal's notes mention dictamen of junta general forbidding founding of new missions due to high cost of maintaining them. Also, pronouncements of junta general in response to these requests. (J. H.
