Unable to conduct formal investigation, but states only reason unrest from 1735-40, mistreatment Yaquis by missionaries Gonzalez, Napoli. Granted permission to Muni, Bernabe to plead Yaqui case before viceroy. In 1738. When leaders failed to return after 1 1/2 years, Napoli told relatives 2 men hanged Mexico City, sold church valuables Rahum, Potam. Also states another cause rebellion severe floods Rios Mayo, Yaqui, which washed away land as well as crops, causing much hunger. Claims fr. Estrada didn't want Spaniards living near his Indian pueblos, so he incited to burn Spaniards corrals, etc. Describes widespread missionary opposition to civil authority. Discusses Sinaloa-Sonora supply line to ysla de California by boat across Gulf. (T. Sheridan) (1976)
