Serna responds to virrey's order commenting on several points regarding Indian campaigns and relations, promising completion of each. says Indians use mostly bow and arrow. Description of their construction and use. Concerns Indians' method of attack. says need more money for hatchets and other tools for opening paths. Company also in need of priest and surgeon to maintain soldiers' minds and bodies. Serna informs Castro of capture of desertors. Serna requests permission to search for doctor to cure continuing illness. Guerra appointed captain of company. Includes letter regarding desertors and requesting instructions for action against them. Also contains letter from priest saying Serna has not presented himself for confession and seems unable to.
