Summary
Copies of minutes and decrees concerning Corbalan's complaints because Indian Seris have been removed from the arable lands they had been given. Corbalan and Aragon's suggestion of allowing capitan Calixto to live in Aragon's Rancho San Antonio. Aragon asks Bucarelli to accept capitan Calixto's peace proposal. Indian Seri capitan Calixto has been hidden in the mountains together with the Pima Indians; and Calixto is said to be leading Pima Indians in order to fight against Spaniards. Emphasis is given by Aragon in Calixto's peace proposal, and he is willing to take him in to his Rancho San Antonio. (R. Gomez, November 1989)

Copies of documents concerning Seris' settlement at Pitic, and military actions against Sibubapas. Letters to Bucareli concerning carbola's petition to give the Seris Indians arable lands, seeds, tools and oxen to be used in farming. Seris are said to be the best civilized Indians around Rio Yaqui. Sibubapas are depicted as being irresponsible, non-religious, uncivilized and violent. Carbola suggests military action against them. Summary
Letter to viceroy by fray Fernandez criticizing role of military personnel in reduction of Apaches and advancement into in northern territories. Fray Fernandez describes areas by deduction and by information gained from travelers about such northern territories. Fray Fernandez also describes danger of advancement by French to colonize a bigger territory than Nueva Espana assuring crown he would be able to conquer these territories with a handful of soldiers and missionaries if permission is given. Francisco and six families of Seris returned to Pitic on August 30, looking very hungry. Speaks of rations of grain, meat. Mentions agreement made when Seris first conceded peace in 1784. Tiburones, Tepocas embracing christianity, should be used as examples for Seris. Discussion of process for religious education for Young, older Indians. Lists Seris in reduccion, amount of grain each receives weekly Chepillo declared guilty (charge unclear) by entire Seri nation, is to be deported. Speaks of purchase of livestock for Seris. (A.
