An annual contribution of 4 pesos by each indian family; that indians form their own parishes and pay indian and Spanish religious personnel, lists suggested salaries for various personnel; that they pay 30 Spanish residents (who must be married and will populate area) to serve as defense militia; that a system of community livestock be developed (provides prices of various species); that each indian own land and pay a percentage to the church; and that funds be set aside for the king, for hospitals, and to support livestock raising. Nunez writes of Galvez' merits. Description with map of rio Mayo area, including description of clothing worn by indians, and agricultural activities. Estimates a population of 2,000 indian families living in the rio Mayo area (maybe 6,000 souls). (L. L. Woodward, August 1989)

Concerns notification by Corbalan and Borfa to Bucareli about Sibubapa Indians behavior at Zuaqui. Borfa says he cannot retain Sibubapas Indians near the mission at Zuaqui. Sibubapis go to the mountains and hills in order to hunt and gather food since the mission does not have enough food to feed them. Sibubapas are described as being reticent to attend Christian mass. Copies of documents concerning notifications of construction of a church for Seris Indians at el Pitic, and rebuilding another one for Sibubapas at Zuaqui Pueblo. (R. Gomez, November, 1989)

Nava informs virrey that Lipanes de arriba are very cooperative in peace treaty; Lipanes de Abajo do not want peace. explains that de arriba habit of hunting Cibolo twice a year is cause of discord between bands. Apaches are poorly disciplined, unused to following one chief; lay of their land makes it difficult to anticipate attacks. Mentions attack by Mescaleros, supported by troop, against Comanches; conflict resolved. Texas gobernador preparing campaign against de Abajo Lipanes.
