Murgier reports few notable occurrences in diaries. Gives rough outline of events such as Indians seeking peace settlement; minor military outings to correct Indian misbehavior; soldiers sick and unable to cortar la tierra; reference to some Indians surviving on only Calabazas in Sierra; women as Indians and prisoners, no great detail. Governor of Nuevo Leon suggests to viceroy two plans for capture, submission and christianization of Gualahuizes. Letter sent by fray Barragan to viceroy detailing surrender of Pedro Jose and his group, promises made by Barragan to all Gualahuizes with his plans for controlling them. (A. Dell'acqua. An account of contact between Spaniards and two tribes, Jumanes and Shulimes. These two live close by, are friendly to each other and Spaniards, trade with Spaniards, and wish to have Spaniards come and aid them in their war with Apache. A native account of arrival of Spaniards is given. The two tribes ask Spaniards, represented by 10 Jumanas captains, to return to their lands. A list of trade goods is given.
