This informe was written to the king from the college of San Fernando opposing the recommendation of Don Philipe Neve, the governor, who proposes for economic reasons one missionary be placed in each mission. The document is signed by fr. Francisco Pangua, the guardian and his discretorium and is countersigned by fr. Diego Ximenez, testifying that it is an exact copy of the original. This informe was written by fr. Diego Ximenez to the Senor fiscal, Bucareli asking for help for the missions. He enumerates the thirteen points which were issued as regulations for the soldiers in their duties of assistance in the missions. Concerning Franciscan request to have Sacramento presidio moved from present location in Coahuila to Rio San Xavier in Texas, 190 leagues away, marques de Altamira replies that such an action would- 1) disturb present presidial line of defense; 2) leave new but prospering settlements in Valle de Santa Rosa (location of Sacramento presidio) defenseless against Apache attack; 3) would not contribute to defense against Apache since Indians in San Xavier area not Apaches, require round trip journeys of more than 400 leagues.
