Summary
The Apaches, after committing depredations have sent two envoys to Balverde y Cosio, requesting peace. The Spaniards were planning a campaign against them, and this unexpected overture has confused their planning, somewhat. Balverde y Cosio has conducted an opinion Poll of some eleven of his officers and men, and all but one of them are in favor of postponing the campaign against the Apaches, and waiting to See if the request for peace is genuine.
