Members of the municipal council of Santa Fee and of the company of soldiers of the same town, accuse Fransisco Cuerbo y Valdes of having conducted an investigation of the municipal accounts and attempting, falsely, to place the said soldiers and council members under suspicion of some wrongdoing. The complaint goes to the governor and to the viceroy. The governor, while the dispute is still pending in the hands of the viceroy, is attempting to get the parties to negotiate a settlement.
