An annual contribution of 4 pesos by each indian family; that indians form their own parishes and pay indian and Spanish religious personnel, lists suggested salaries for various personnel; that they pay 30 Spanish residents (who must be married and will populate area) to serve as defense militia; that a system of community livestock be developed (provides prices of various species); that each indian own land and pay a percentage to the church; and that funds be set aside for the king, for hospitals, and to support livestock raising. Nunez writes of Galvez' merits. Description with map of rio Mayo area, including description of clothing worn by indians, and agricultural activities. Estimates a population of 2,000 indian families living in the rio Mayo area (maybe 6,000 souls). (L. L. Woodward, August 1989)
