Summary
Vaamonde tries to explain that his marriage was not consummated (he never lived with Maria Trevino) but just a provisional contract subjected to obtaining the official license. Therefore, he asks the sentence against him to be obeyed but not executed, allowing him to finish his regular period as a governor. His petitions are rejected and the new governor, Simon de Herrera, is urged to assume his functions. In the last document of this group, Vaamonde reports that his wife has just died. (A.
