Summary
Some documents concern late arrival of Pineda to Sonora due to illness; mention Indians have been peaceful due to abundance of fruit and active patrolling by soldiers. Most documents deal with proper procedures for assigning titles to military officials. It is stated that Veldarrain assigned titles to various officials without verification from viceroy. Viceroy requests that for every opening captains should send names of three candidates for position, listing attributes and qualities. (J. Tapia, may, 1988)
